  • Chief Accountant

    An independent role owning the company's full accounting, period closes and financial reporting, financial analysis for the Management Board, and relations with banks, auditors and public authorities.

    Details

    We manufacture private label perfumes and fragrance products for brands in Poland and abroad, in our own facility in Kraków. We are looking for someone to take on an independent role with real influence over accounting and finance, working directly with the Management Board every day.

    Your tasks

    Accounting and reporting

    • Independently running and supervising the company's full accounting.
    • Overseeing the accuracy and completeness of postings and the flow of accounting documents.
    • Reviewing documents for accounting and tax compliance.
    • Monthly and annual closes.
    • Financial statements and required tax returns, reports and statements.
    • Data and reports for the Management Board, banks, Statistics Poland (GUS), the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and tax authorities.
    • Correct and timely settlement of tax liabilities.
    • Reviewing and reconciling ledger accounts.
    • Analysing receivables, payables and counterparty balances.
    • Ongoing analysis and settlement of customer advance payments.
    • Confirming balances with counterparties and resolving discrepancies.
    • Fixed asset register and depreciation.
    • Overseeing correct recognition of costs and revenue.
    • Supporting financial analysis and budgeting.

    Finance and the Management Board

    • Monitoring and analysing the company's cash flows.
    • Ongoing analysis of the company's financial position.
    • Financial statements and analyses for the Management Board.
    • Working with banks and financial institutions.
    • Working with auditors, advisors and external institutions.
    • Working with tax offices, ZUS and other institutions on accounting and tax matters.
    • Taking part in inspections and proceedings by external authorities.
    • Spotting irregularities and independently resolving accounting and financial issues.

    Working with HR

    • Correct recognition of salaries and employee benefits in the books.
    • Checking the data needed to settle payroll.
    • Payroll-related settlements with ZUS and the tax office.
    • Clarifying accounting and tax questions related to payroll.

    HR records, employment contracts and payroll lists are handled by our HR specialist.

    Requirements

    • Experience as a Chief Accountant or in an independent accounting role.
    • Very good knowledge of Polish accounting principles and tax law.
    • Hands-on experience running full accounting.
    • Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and reports.
    • Independent analysis of ledger accounts, balances and financial data.
    • Analytical thinking and independent problem-solving in accounting and tax.
    • Excellent organisation, accuracy and timeliness.
    • Accountability and independent decision-making.
    • Ability to work with the Management Board and other departments.
    • Good command of MS Office, especially Excel.
    • Knowledge of Symfonia accounting software.
